Mr. Berry has 28 years' experience in Geological Remote Sensing and is an internationally recognized and published expert in the field. He also has extensive experience in mapping of fold and thrust belts, the use of oil slicks in evaluating charge risk offshore and mapping of hydrothermal alteration zones.
John Berry's varied geological career has taken him to all continents except Antartica and from 84° N to 30° S
He has mapped the floor of the Arctic Ocean from an iceberg, explored for Copper in Zambia, Uranium in the Eastern U.S., Gold in the West, and Lead and Zinc in Brazil. He has also performed geochemical studies of weathering rates and used remote sensing techniques to map land subsidence.
In addition to his formal interests in geology, Mr. Berry has had long-standing interests in Geomorphology, Pleistocene Geology, Climate Change, and the application of Geological and Remote Sensing Techniques in Archaeology. He has applied some of this background to diamond exploration in West Africa, to research the Quaternary Climatic history of Western China, and to investigate the post-Paleozoic tectonics of eastern North America.
Mr. Berry is also interested in issues of Third World development, sustainability, and "Futurism" from a geological perspective. He is particularly interested in the future evolution of fossil energy availability and use.
